From the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada – National Capital Region

On Remembrance Day (November 11th), people across Canada from coast to coast to coast will pause to honour the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of all veterans who have worn the Canadian Armed Forces uniform, either serving in times of war, conflict, or peacekeeping.

On behalf of IPAC-NCR, we express our profound gratitude to all past and present members of the military who have answered the call to serve often at personal costs. Their commitment to Canada’s safety and prosperity inspires us all. We remember those who have fallen, honour those who continue to serve, and offer our heartfelt appreciation for their unwavering dedication. We also recognize the families and communities who supported them with resilience and strength remain integral to Canada’s story.

At IPAC-NCR, we are proud to work alongside public servants – particularly those in the military – who embody the values of service, integrity, and leadership that veterans have demonstrated throughout Canada’s history. We invite you to join IPAC-NCR in reflection and remembrance to honour the efforts of the men, women, and gender-diverse individuals of all racial and religious backgrounds who served to build a better Canada and a safer world.

We encourage everyone to wear a poppy and participate in Remembrance Day ceremonies wherever you are.

Lest we forget.

With respect and gratitude,

Blair Jones, Chair

Christopher Khaalid Scipio, Vice-Chair
